DuPont Invests $220M in Upgrade of Polyamide Film Plant

March 13, 2019

DowDuPont’s DuPont Electronics & Imaging business announced plans this month to dedicate $220 million toward upgrades of its Circleville, OH plant to expand production of polyamide film and flexible circuit materials.

“Our new production assets will position us well to support the growing need across many sectors for our advanced high-reliability materials for innovations in areas such as 5G, automotive, flexible displays, and artificial intelligence,” Jim Fahey, president of DuPont Electronics & Imaging, said in a recent press release.

The company said the expansion of its production capabilities will help it to meet increased demand from the automotive, consumer electronics, telecom, and defense industries. Polyamide film has been produced at the Circleville facility for more than six decades, which is currently sold under the DuPont Kapton brand. Flexible circuit materials made at the plant are available under the Pyralux brand.

Completion of the expansion project is slated for 2021.
