A dust collector fire Friday afternoon at the Werzalit Of America Inc. factory in Bradford, PA caused $100,000 in damages to the facility, the Bradford Era reported Saturday.

Firefighters from the Bradford City Fire Department responded to the scene at about 3:30 p.m., finding a blaze had ignited in the facility’s dust collection area, Captain J.D. Tehle told the newspaper. Piping and other obstructions were removed as firefighters combatted the fire, which had spread into a boiler room.

Operations at the plant were halted during the incident as employees were evacuated. No injuries were reported.

Werzalit Of America Inc., a subsidiary of German firm Werzalit KG, has manufactured resin-bonded wood products like table tops, siding, and industrial products at the Bradford plant since 1978, according to the company’s website.
