Illinois-based soil management and modification solutions provider Profile Products is launching a project to build a new wood fiber processing plant in the southwestern United States to help the company meet growing demand, the firm announced in a release this week.

Slated to become operational by Q1 2022, the plant will have a capacity of 100,000 tn of thermally refined wood fiber. The site will be the third wood fiber processing plant in Profile’s network.

“Throughout the industries we serve, we are seeing continued strong demand for our products. Customers want to know they’re using the best products for the job and the environment,” Jim Tanner, president and CEO of the firm, said in a statement. “As industry lead times and demand have grown, we’re responding by moving quickly with building this new plant. It’s been in the works for months, but it’s time to share the great news with our customers.”

Profile’s plant in the southwest US will manufacture products to support the firm’s erosion control business, like wood, blend, and value-added mulch products. Earlier this year the firm revealed plans to invest $9 million in an expansion of its Conover, NC manufacturing plant.
