Vortex Valves UK Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

Vortex Valves UK, a branch of the American company producing a wide range of bulk solids valves and components, is celebrating its tenth anniversary of operations this year, the company annouced Tuesday.

In April 2016, the company, which serves Vortex's business activities in Europe, Asia, and Africa, renovated its offices in Darlington, UK. This is the third relocation of Vortex's UK headquarters, each move increasing space for employees and storage.

"The new premises not only provide a great work environment for our employees, but offers a lot more room for growth," said Vortex's managing director Travis Young in a press release. "We routinely host many agents and clients for training courses from all over the world, so the large conference room and product demonstration area are a welcome addition."

Vortex operates in over 75 countries around the world serving clients like Nestle, DuPont, Kraft Foods, Cargill, InBev, and Dow Chemical. The entrance of the newly renovated UK office features shelves of products produced with the company's equipment like Wrigley's chewing gum, Guinness, Pringles, Yorkshire tea, and Lavazza coffee.

"It is sometimes hard to describe what we do," said Young. "The display essentially shows the range of materials and brands our equipment handles. It helps connect the dots for those unfamiliar with Vortex and the dry bulk handling industry as a whole."

Over the past decade, Vortex underwent a process to ensure that its products offered in Europe complied with European Union (EU) standards and accounting for metric systems of measurement for non-US markets.

"Ten years ago Vortex had a huge mountain to climb. When we started (in the UK) we had only a handful of customers throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Despite this, we knew if we could assist our customers by solving processing problems, whilst striving to [deliver] excellent service and response, Vortex would find its place in these new markets."
