Iris Valve
The Mitsumi iris valve

The advantage of this iris valve is its "half action." About a 90-degree rotation can close/open the valve. As a result, an air cylinder can be used for this automatic operation (open/close). A motor drive is generally used for conventional iris valves for 180-degree rotation, which can increase the total cost of the iris valve system. The Mitsumi iris valve can decrease these peripheral costs and simplify the automatic control for powder process. It is safer for operators since the handle does not have to be moved 180 degrees. Features include: compact and lightweight; minimum powder residue on the valve sleeve; various materials available for the body, flange, and sleeve; compatible with sanitary and fine chemical specs.
