Consumer products firm Colgate-Palmolive recently named Noel R. Wallace as its new president and chief operating officer, who will assume leadership of all of the firm’s operating units, a company press release announced Wednesday.

Wallace, 53, joined Colgate-Palmolive in 1987 and most recently served as chief operating officer of the firm’s Global Innovation & Growth and Hill’s Pet Nutrition units. The incoming president also has experience leading Colgate-Palmolive’s Mexico subsidiary and its North America and Latin America divisions.

Colgate also announced the appointment of P. Justin Skala as executive vice president, chief growth & strategy officer, that will head up Colgate’s commercial growth activities, including sustainability efforts and global marketing.

58-year-old Skala became a part of Colgate-Palmolive in 1982 and has held a range of leadership roles and lead the firm’s Asia, Latin America, and North America divisions.

“Colgate is fortunate to have two executives of this caliber to assume the company’s most senior operating and strategy roles. Their demonstrated global success and long experience make them especially qualified to drive our strategies and results throughout the Colgate world,” Ian Cook, the company’s chief executive officer and chairman, said in a statement.

The company’s release did not offer details on when the new executives would assume their posts.
