Moving to increase its storage capacity, Cooperative Producers Inc. (CPI) revealed plans Monday to build a new 750,000-bu storage gin at its Fairmont, NE grain shuttle loading facility.

“With the support of CPI’s board of directors, we believe our Fairmont location is a prime spot for increased capacity,” CPI Vice President of Grain Justin Yoesel said in a company press release. “This is another example of our patrons’ equity being put to work.”

Work on the new bin is slated to begin this month. The project is expected to be completed ahead of the 2020 fall harvest.

Powder & Bulk Solids reported in late April that American agribusiness Bunge entered into an agreement to shed 35 of its grain elevators in the United States to Japanese firm Zen-Noh Grain Corporation.
