Several alternatives are available when industrial processes require size reduction, crushing, and de-agglomeration. Capacities vary by equipment but the family of products covers capacities from 2000 to 36,000 lb/hr.

Howes manufactures five models of lump breakers designed to reduce softer and abrasive products such as filter cakes, food stuffs, chemicals, fertilizers, and fly ash into sizes that can be further processed. Both models are available with motor and drive options and various materials of construction (mild steel, stainless steel, hastalloy, etc.) to suit the mechanical and chemical elements of the application. Custom designs include, but are not limited to, inlets, outlets, mount stands, and integrated controls. Lump breakers can be used either inline or as free-standing units with base and feed chute.
