Sifters, Sieves, & Screens

Vibratory Screener
The model K72-1K-SS vibratory screener discharges oversize particles 360° around the periphery of an External Kascade circular screening deck, instead of through 15-25° openings of conventional discharge spouts. The screener, a 72-in.-diam Vibroscreen model, is intended for screening of wet or dry bulk materials containing a large percentage of oversize fractions, at higher rates than attainable with conventional screeners. As material is fed onto the center of the screening deck, on-size particles pass through the screen and funnel through a lower discharge chute. Oversize particles flow outward in a spiral pattern, and cascade at any point over the periphery of the circular screen onto a spiral vibratory trough that directs the material into a high capacity discharge spout. Tumbler Screener
The GKM Siebtechnik ultimate tumbler screener provides accurate control screening, fractionating, and dedusting of dry, powdered, and granular products. It is particularly suitable for high feed rates and multi-deck separations of fine, lightweight products that are difficult to screen. It provides precise separation of powders and granules in 1-6 fractions. The GKM tumbler screener is especially suited for fine and difficult screening applications with feed rates from 10 kg/hr up to 40 tn/hr. It is available with mesh sizes of 20 microns to 20 mm. Sifter Decks with Inspection Portholes
The inspection porthole on this line of CS-1 gyratory sifters allows easy access to visually inspect 100% of the screen area without the need to disassemble the sifter. The view port is easy to use and requires no tools. You simply unscrew two wing nuts and remove the metal cover plate. The optional view port is available on select decks for the sifter and includes front and rear side portholes with cover plates, self-adhering gaskets for the cover plates, and nylon wing nuts. Retrofitting existing CS-1 sifter decks is possible during the repair process. The inspection porthole facilitates maintenance and sanitation as well as helps to extend the life of the gaskets and decks. Ultrasonic Screening System
W.S. Tyler now offers the Haver ultrasonic screening system that uses sound waves to increase the throughput and screening efficiency of fine dry particles. This ultrasonic screening process uses a generator (included) to convert electrical energy into high-frequency pulses, which are then converted into sound waves. The sound waves create an oscillation in the screen frame at high frequencies. These oscillations are transferred to screening cloth where they are evenly distributed across the entire surface. The oscillations reduce frictional resistance between material and screening media, thus creating a reduction in blinding and increased throughput and efficiencies. Other benefits of the system include greater screen media service life, a reduction in “caking” of temperature sensitive powders, and longer operational time between cleanings. W.S. Electromagnetic Screeners
These electromagnetic screeners size, scalp, or de-dust dry bulk solid materials. These linear screeners are available in a variety of drive designs to meet specific application requirements. B and C models are well suited for fine material separations. These high-frequency, 3600 vibrations/min and low amplitude, .060-in. units are ideal for dedusting and other fines mesh (4 to 200 mesh) separation. Models are also available for Class II, Div. 1, Group F and G environments. The patented screeners have all the advantages of an electromagnetic design with the added benefit of high amplitude. Operating at a fixed 1800 vibrations/min and approximately .1875 amplitude, HD models offer the nearly maintenance-free operation of Eriez’ electromagnetic design with high amplitude, similar to a mechanical screener. Vibrating Digital Sieve Shaker
The D450 digital is a vibrating shaker that is used to carry out sieve tests in conjunction with sieve stacks for particle sizing of various material samples. It is based on an electromagnetic drive, with special carbon fiber springs that are set at a calculated angle to provide a horizontal twist, as well as a vertical movement to carry out efficient sieve tests. The D450 has a remote control unit that houses a digital controller to vary the vibration, process time, and intermittent settings. The intermittent timer operates within the process time so that the vibration is turned on and off during the total sieving time. The intermittent timer is controlled by an override switch to enable the shaker to operate in the continuous or intermittent mode. Endecotts Inc., Ponte Vedra, FL 904-814-8418 www.endecotts.com

Toll Processing
Elcan’s toll processing facility provides screening capability that affords customers the option of sending any quantity of material to be separated on either the Virto multi-frequency screener or the Minox tumbler screener. These systems can assist customers with testing and developing new products in the lab. Cost-effective processing of low-volume or difficult-to-produce products is also provided. Virto and Minox technology can separate complex materials such as very fine powders, sticky products, and delicate agglomerates, and yield more than most conventional screeners with the ability of screening down to 10 micron. Sieve Tower Analyzer
HK laboratory/pilot sieve towers have a heavy-duty, dual vibratory drive design that enables quick sieve analysis of product samples with maximum throughput. Adjustable, dual outboard rotary electric drives, together with variable speed settings, permit complete control. This product can accommodate up to eight full height sieves or a set of 16 half frame sieves for dry or liquid slurry materials. The sieve tower is available in 8-, 12-, or 17-in.-diam sieve sizes down to 635 mesh (20 micron) and it is ideal for powder chemical, metal powder, ceramic, food product, or pharmaceutical applications. Additional features include electric or air operation for tabletop or caster use, and quick clean-up and assembly. An electromagnetic jogger is available as an option to rotary electric motors. With an ultrasonic vibration upgrade, the sieve tower supports mesh sizes down to 10 micron. Cleveland Vibrator Co., Cleveland, OH 800-221-3298 www.clevelandvibrator.com

Pneumatic In-Line Sifter
The QA36 pneumatic in-line sifter has a high net screening area and is an ideal HACCP solution for operations with moderate to high production volumes. It is designed to be directly inserted into a vacuum or dilute-phase pressure pneumatic conveying system, and manufactured with a high level of sanitation in mind, as well as ease of maintenance using lightweight components, and form fitting, snap-on neoprene gaskets.
