Building, civil engineering, quarrying, and property firm Gallagher Group opened a new £1.5 million (about $1.8 million) ready mix concrete plant in Ashford, England, the Kent-based company announced by press release Feb. 14.

Manufacturing a variety of concrete mixes and floor screeds, the new plant is able to produce 100 m3 of concrete per hour with a single pan mixer containing two loading points, the company said. Three 80-tn silos enable the plant to produce large pours of over 200 m3.

“This marks an important phase in the evolution of our Aggregates business and shows our commitment to serving the housebuilding and development community of Ashford and the surrounding area,” said Nick Yandle, chief executive of Gallagher, in a statement.

The facility will also produce screed, bagged aggregates and serve as a transfer station for demolition material to be returned for recycling at the firm’s Maidstone site.

Total Batching Solutions built the site for Gallagher, tailoring the facility to the Kent company’s demands.
