Mechanical Conveying at the Powder Show

The 2016 Powder & Bulk Solids Conference & Exhibition (Powder Show) kicks off on Tuesday, May 3 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. This year’s event will be the 40th anniversary of the inaugural Powder Show in 1976.

The highly anticipated Powder Show Conference program is crafted with input from an advisory board that is loaded with industry experts. Designed for new and experienced processing professionals the flexible conference program provides the in-depth technical training needed to brush up on the fundamentals or tackle more advanced topics.

On Thursday, May 5, from 10:15– 11:45am, Mark Jones, director, TUNRA Bulk Solids, professor of engineering & built environment, University of Newcastle, and Alan Roberts, Professor Emeritus, University of Newcastle, will lead a technical workshop, “Conveyer Selection Criteria for Mechanical Handling Systems.” This session will identify key selection and performance criteria when specifying mechanical handling equipment (i.e. belt conveyors, screw conveyors, chain conveyors, etc.). Case studies will focus on the main issues that influence selection and providing a sound basis for selecting equipment.
