July 18, 2012
Flexicon Corp., the world's largest manufacturer of flexible screw conveyors, bulk bag dischargers, and bulk bag fillers, has accelerated its South American expansion plans with the opening of a company-owned and operated facility in Santiago, Chile, it was announced by David Gill, president.
"Flexicon bulk handling equipment has been purchased throughout South America since 1975 through independent representatives, who will now be supported locally by a dedicated staff with full access to corporate resources," explains Gill.
The Santiago office will be headed by Andrés Lastra, who is experienced in Chilean business management, and has been trained at Flexicon's World headquarters in Bethlehem, PA over the past year.
Lastra will be responsible for building relationships with plant managers, engineers, and other decision-makers at South American facilities that handle bulk solid materials across the food, pharmaceutical, mineral, and general chemical industries.
The Santiago office will have direct access to details on more than 15,000 installations of Flexicon bulk handling equipment including: flexible screw conveyors, pneumatic conveying systems, bulk bag conditioners, bulk bag dischargers, bulk bag fillers, drum/box/container dumpers, manual dumping stations, weigh batching systems, and engineered plant-wide systems integrated with the new or existing equipment or processes.
"The Santiago office also has full access to Flexicon's worldwide engineering resources which, together with our Lifetime Performance Guarantee, can take the risk out of purchasing bulk handling equipment and systems," notes Gill.
In addition to the Bethlehem, PA manufacturing location, Flexicon owns and operates manufacturing facilities in Kent, England, Brisbane, Australia, and Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
