Bulk Material Handling System
This fully automated, self-contained, bulk material handling system completely manages material from the introduction stage, through discharge and conditioning, to downstream supply of finished material into manufacturing operations. Human interaction is limited to container loading and removal. The lift-and-seal carriage receives each 1450-lb container and precisely aligns and seals it to the custom, stainless steel discharge hood using an automatic centering system. The 2000-lb-capacity lift carriage raises and rotates the container 180 degrees, ensuring complete material discharge. The 100-cu-ft-capacity, stainless steel receiving hopper with integrated agitator pre-conditions the material. A 9-in.-diam auger feeds pre-conditioned material to a high-capacity, dual-shaft size reduction crumbler for final conditioning of the material prior to pneumatic conveying to downstream process operations. Bulk Bag Material Conditioner
This patent-pending bulk bag material conditioner utilizes hydraulically actuated pivoting conditioning arms and a rotary lift table to safely and efficiently return solidified materials to a free-flowing state. The system’s pivoting conditioning frames penetrate deeply into the material for more effective results than other designs, while the lift table rotates and positions the bulk bag for complete material conditioning. The unit features an ultra-compact footprint and machine guarding for operator safety. Material Transfer, Allegan, MI  800-836-7068 www.materialtransfer.com

Wireless Control System
CattronConnect enterprise software offers customers the ability to communicate wirelessly and bi-directionally with all of their fixed or mobile assets, including cranes, locomotives, and mining equipment, on a near-real-time basis using either the IP-based cellular networks or 802.11 or both. This fleet-wide capability can be leveraged for higher value propositions such as: compliance to warranty terms and conditions, predictive and scheduled condition-based maintenance, remote firmware updates reducing “service truck rolls”, and enhanced safety reporting with a data-logging feature. This information and the capability of these actions are available through a user-defined customized Web site. Cattron Group International,  Sharpsville, PA 724-962-3571 www.cattrongroup.com

Ergonomic Palletizer
The PalletPal level loader has been redesigned to make it more ergonomic. A new, smaller base makes loading and unloading pallets faster, safer, and easier because it lets the user step even closer to the unit’s platform, for the best access to palletized loads. The palletizer’s use virtually eliminates the productivity-robbing, injury-producing bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching common to pallet-loading applications. Heavy-duty springs automatically lower or raise a pallet as weight is added or removed, maintaining the top layer of stacked containers at a convenient height. The turntable ring (or optional turntable platform) at the top of the palletizer allows the user to spin the load so he or she can stand in the same spot throughout the loading or unloading process. The economical unit requires no power and is virtually maintenance-free. Fork pockets at the base allow for easy relocation. The palletizer can accommodate loads from 400 to 4500 lb, depending on which of five spring packages is chosen by the customer (based on the anticipated weight and height of a fully loaded pallet). Low-Level Bulk Depalletizer
This automatic low-level bulk depalletizer was developed to offer customers expanded efficiencies and to improve line speeds. The depalletizer automatically removes cans, bottles, and jars (glass and plastic) from pallets and conveys these containers into production lines by utilizing a layer containment device to capture and transfer layers of product from a pallet. Layer pads and top frames are also automatically removed and placed into an easily accessible hopper and empty pallets are automatically stacked. The low-level design allows for multiple operator tasks. Production attendants can easily and safely monitor the system. Features and benefits of the depalletizer include a configurable layout allowing the system to be tailored to a customer’s floor-space requirements, industry leading integral safety package, safeguarding of all access points, automatically senses non-perpendicular loads, layers remain positively supported in all four directions during sweep and lowering cycle and programmable logic controller.
