According to Iraqi News, a fire broke out at an asphalt factory located near Arbat town in the eastern region of Sulaymaniyah in northern Iraq, resulting in the death of one worker and three others with severe injuries.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when a tanker transporting bitumen ignited while attempting to unload its cargo within one of the storage units in the industrial complex of Zillion Oil Co, said Arbat Mayor Daban Mohammed.

The fire continued to blaze for more than nine hours, primarily due to the substantial quantities of flammable materials stored within the units.

The tanker’s driver was killed. Among the three injured individuals, all were workers at the plant.

Zillion Oil supplies bitumen products such as penetration grade bitumen and viscosity grade bitumen packaged in bulk, standard sized drums, and jumbo bags, according to the company website.
