Firefighters were called to the Amos Hill Associates veneer manufacturing plant in Edinburgh, IN on Wednesday after a fire started in a piece of dust collection equipment, the Franklin Daily Journal reported.
Dispatched to the scene around 5 am, crews were able to bring the flames in the machine under control within 20 minutes, Edinburgh Fire and Rescue said in a post to its Facebook page. Several other area fire departments responded to the incident to provide mutual aid.
Edinburgh Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief of Operations Brandon Routier told the Daily Journal that a dust collector in the facility’s shipping department was involved in the fire. The official said damages were limited to the machine and some insulation above it. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Fire personnel remained at the site for an hour after the fire was extinguished, according to coverage by LocalNewsDigital.com.
Amos Hill produces hardwood veneer products.
