2 Workers Die from Processing Plant Explosion Injuries

Two workers who were inured in an explosion August 10 at the DAR PRO Solutions processing plant have died.

Two workers who were inured in an explosion August 10 at the DAR PRO Solutions processing plant in Mississippi have died.

51-year-old William Jackson and 56-year-old Terrence Fortenberry died from complications from thermal burns they suffered in the explosion, according to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart. Jackson died Thursday evening, Fortenberry died Friday.

DAR PRO Solutions collects and recycles used cooking oil and inedible meat by-products. The plant had been cited by The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for three “serious” violations in 2017. An investigation was being conducted.
