On Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Pacific, Joe Marinelli, president, Solids Handling Technologies Inc., will present "How Important is Feeder Design?" as part of Powder & Bulk Solids’ free DryPro webinar series.

When handling powders in bins, hoppers, and silos, we are most concerned with “what does it take to achieve reliable flow.” Although this is very important, not much attention is paid to the discharging device. The design of your feeding device is critical to maintaining reliable discharge from your bin or silo. If your feeder is not designed properly, flow from the bin or silo will effected.

Attend this webinar and learn:

  •     What qualifies your discharging device as a feeder?

  •     Volumetric and gravimetric (weighing) feeders

  •     Volumetric screws, belts, rotary valves, louvered, and pan feeders

  •     Gravimetric belts, loss-in-weight, and gain-in-weight feeders

  •     Special applications

Marinelli, who received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, from Northeastern University in Boston, is a bulk materials handling expert who has taught hundreds of highly acclaimed engineering seminars. Since 1972, he has been active in testing bulk solids and consulting on materials handling systems design. Marinelli worked with Dr. Andrew Jenike (who is recognized worldwide for his work in bulk solids handling), for many years. He lectures frequently, teaching courses on solids flow principles and flow property testing, and has authored several papers and an encyclopedia section on the subject. Since 1997, he has been involved with popular seminars at the University of Wisconsin in the areas of bin and feeder design and solids flow property testing. He is also a columnist (“Powder Perspectives”) for www.powderbulksolids.com
