Feeders

Composite Screw Feeder
The AccuFeed uses molded composite components and a modular design to reduce cost and delivery time. Available in capacities up to 600 cu ft/hr, the patented feeder employs controlled vibration to achieve volumetric accuracies of +/- 1-2%. The AccuFeed permits selection of the most economical design for an initial application and offers the ability to upgrade the design as materials or characteristics change. It is available in interchangeable ½- to 6-in. screw sizes for feed rates up to 600 cu ft/hr. The machine disassembles quickly for cleaning and meets FDA and USDA sanitary requirements. The feeder may be scale-mounted for batch or continuous weigh feeding applications.

Micro Batch Feeders
Modern processes demand accurate feeding of several products in batch - as well as in continuous processes. In its basic version the feeder is a volumetric screw feeder with a separate homogenizer tool to assure a proper and regular filling ratio of the extracting screw. In combination with weighing equipment and computer-aided control, this feeder range turns into gravimetric dosing units, used in batch processes for minor and/or major components up to fully controlled master/slave feeding units for multiple ingredients in percentage related dosing processes in continuous manufacturing.

Micro-Feeder
The dust-tight MZMA micro-feeder for free-flowing and non-free-flowing materials is designed for mealy, floury, and granular materials, and ideally suited for handling flours, starch, and vitamin premixes. The large capacity allows throughput rates ranging from 200 to 3500 lb/hr. The frequency-converter-controlled drive enables the material feed rate to be easy and accurately selected. The mixing hopper incorporates rotating elements that loosen the product and ensure a constant rate of material feed to the feed screw.

Continuous Weigh Feeders
Better-Weigh continuous feeders are ideal for gravimetric feeding of dry bulk materials where it is necessary to determine actual feed rates on a loss-of-weight basis. Available in seven models with feed rates from 1 to 550 cu ft/hr (larger sizes available), these feeders are designed to provide feeding in either batch or continuous mode. In batch mode, the batch controller is used to control the fast (bulk) and slow (dribble) speeds of the feeder. Accuracies of ±0.5% can be easily achieved in 2-lb or less batches, and ±0.25% with 3-lb or greater batches with time spans of 30 to 90 seconds. In continuous mode, the feeder’s electronic controller is used to constantly monitor loss of weight of material per time in order to maintain a continuous loss of weight with an accuracy of ±0.25% to 0.50%.

Volumetric Powder Feeders
This line of precise powder feeders provides varying capacities equipped to handle a wide range of material bulk densities at low to medium feed rates. Each of the three machines in the line are engineered with the patented U-Trough hopper and feed section that provides a means for metering difficult-to-control powders. The geometry of the trough and agitator de-aerate and contain the powder on initial fill to help prevent flooding. The independently driven agitator maintains optimum material conditioning while screw speed can vary to control flow rate.

Continuous Loss-in-Weight Feeding System
The AccuMeter series continuous loss-in-weight feeding system can meter most pellets, regrind, and powders into the process, even at low levels (>50 g/hr). This system will improve overall product quality and reduce material usage caused by over-feeding, resulting in reduced product costs. The system features a modular, compact design that provides complete flexibility for changes in your process. Pellets, micro-pellets, powders, and regrind are all accurately metered, while twin-screw feeders and special agitators are also available for non free-flowing materials.

Gravimetric/Volumetric Feeder
Designed specifically for low feed rate applications, the PureFeed AI-300 feeder includes the following features: quick and easy disassembly; a dual-arm external agitation system for maximizing material handling versatility; a disposable, recyclable EPDM feed hopper. That means simpler, shorter cleaning cycles and virtually no chance of cross contamination when moving from one dry bulk solids material to another. The AI-300 also features a stepper motor that allows users to change the penetration agitation speed on the hopper of the feeder without making any mechanical adjustments. The unit is available in volumetric and gravimetric configurations.

Weigh Screw Feeder
Continuous flow measurement is accomplished with a cantilevered screw feeder with pivot centered under the in-feed of the feeder with the feeder suspended from a load cell hung from the discharge end. Flow rates range from 7-170 cu m/hr with a turndown ratio of 5:1. Accuracy rate is +/-1% full scale.

Blow-Through Feeder/Airlock
The BT Series blow-through feeder/airlock is designed to ensure optimal bulk density and throughput of hard-to-convey materials such as fine powders and flakes that, in high-pressure pneumatic conveying applications, can easily over-aerate and reduce material feed efficiency. The design decreases excess aeration of the material during conveying with an integrated vent port on the return side of the valve housing that automatically vents air leakage. The BT Series 8-vane rotary valve design reduces air leakage and maximizes the flow path of air through the rotor pocket, improving material pocket release.

CentriFeeder
The CentriFeeder with Integrated Control Valve (ICV) is both a controlled feed device and a mass flow measurement device in a single multi-functioning unit that will accurately measure and control the flow of any dry, free-flowing solid. Using a highly customizable touch screen HMI equipped with an integrated servo, (low rpm, AC, brushless) a PID control loop is established to control the ICV feeding the patented CentriFlow meter. For precise measurement and control, an Integral Linear Position Sensor is used to regulate the blade’s position to within 1 part in 1000 (based on stroke). For delicate products, the unit is equipped with a Virtual Flow Stop function that stops flow with virtually no damage to your product.

Vibratory Feeder
The GYRO bin activating feeder produces 360 degrees of pure gyratory motion to discharge granular materials from bins, storage silos, and hoppers at any desired feed rate. At the heart of the feeder is the drive that produces 360 degrees of radial force, creating a uniform circular motion on all parts of the feeder. It is this annular radial vibratory motion that imparts the ultimate force, assuring a constant and reliable material flow. This also minimizes any material stratification in the storage silo or bin and develops a predictable and positive flow of material upon demand. The GYRO bin activating feeder can operate either continuously or as a start and stop operation that might be required for more sophisticated process applications.
