Worker Dies in Incident at ADM Grain Elevator

Emergency personnel were called to the Seward, IL facility Tuesday morning after the 63-year-old man was found unresponsive.

A 63-year-old worker was died in an incident Tuesday morning at the Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) grain elevator in Seward, IL, local news organizations reported.

The man was discovered unresponsive on a walkway by a staff member around 8 a.m., coverage by WIFR detailed. Emergency personnel arrived at the ADM Grain facility and found the worker was having a cardiac arrest. After attempting to save his life, officials pronounced the man dead.

“He fell onto the conveyor system, he just went down,” Pecatonica Fire Deputy Chief Todd Haas toldbroadcaster WTVO. “He was up there doing an inspection and he went down.”

No details on the worker’s identity were available.
