Maker of custom and proprietary sauces, dressings, and flavorings Ventura Foods is investing $12.4 million to expand its Chambersburg, PA facility, adding 157 new full time jobs to the facility’s existing payroll within three years, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced by press release Tuesday.
“Upon adding 157 new, full-time employees, Ventura Foods will have a workforce of more than 600 at its expanded facility in Chambersburg,” said Gov. Wolf in the release. “The company’s exceptional growth is to be commended, as it contributes not only to the commonwealth’s flourishing manufacturing sector, but also to the economic well-being of Ventura Foods’ employees, their communities, and beyond.”
The investment will go toward construction of the facility, renovations, machinery, and other equipment.
Ventura Foods is moving recently-acquired assets from Cargill’s Dressings, Sauces, and Mayonnaise (DSM) business to the Pennsylvania site. Other facets of the acquired businesses’ operations will be moved to another Ventura Foods facility in Fort Worth, TX, according to a May 3, 2016 company press release announcing the purchase of the Cargill unit.
Cargill agreed to provide contract manufacturing services for 15 to 18 months to ensure continuity of the products as the operations transitioned to Ventura’s ownership, the May 2016 release said.
Customers of Ventura foods include foodservice companies, restaurants, and retailers.
