Food palatability and nutrition solutions supplier Symrise Pet Food revealed plans this month to invest $65.5 million in the construction of a new facility in Hodges, SC that will serve as its North American headquarters and help the company to increase production of its powder palatant product lines.

“This expansion is a key step for Symrise Pet Food’s North American business. We appreciate the support we have received making our project a reality in Hodges and look forward to continuing our partnership with Greenwood County,” said Tim Lonc, general manager, North America for the firm, in a release. “As the pet food industry keeps growing, we are committed to supporting our customers’ needs and are always looking for ways to reach out for new opportunities.”

65 new jobs will be created when the facility opens. Work on the site is slated to reach completion in 2025.

“Congratulations to Symrise Pet Food on their continued success in Greenwood County,” South Carolina Sec. of Commerce Harry M. Lightsey III said in a statement. “It’s particularly exciting to announce the growth of one of our existing companies, and we look forward to what the future holds for Symrise Pet Food in Greenwood County and across South Carolina.”
