American agriculture supply chain solutions firm Scoular recently struck a deal to buy four grain handling facilities in northwestern Kansas from agribusiness Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), a release announced Thursday. The acquisitions will enable the company to double its handling and storage capacity for corn, wheat, and milo in the area.
Located in Goodland, Brewster, Monument, and Oakley, the sites are expected to be fully operational by the fall harvest.
“We are excited to expand our presence in northwestern Kansas, create value for farmers and invest in our value-chain network providing highest quality and dependable supply to our customers,” Scoular Regional Manager Derek Sparks said in a statement.
With the addition of the ADM assets, Scoular will own 11 facilities in northwest Kansas. The company opened a facility in Goodland, KS in 2007.
Scoular revealed plans in August to invest in major upgrades at two of its grain handling facilities in Kansas to increase unloading speeds and storage capacity.
