Agriculture supply chain solutions firm Scoular announced Tuesday that it has hired a new rail team that will be based in Orlando, FL to expand its services to customers and its reach in the United States.

The trading and support team consists of nine employees from Central States Enterprises. Under Scoular’s management, the team will provide grain merchandising and supply chain solutions to customers in the eastern US.

Scoular said the team will be referred to as the Eastern US Rail Trading Team internally to complement its existing Western US Rail Trading Team. Its network of operations includes trucks, railcars, and barges.

“This new team brings deep knowledge, energy, and outstanding customer service to Scoular and will help us to continue to better serve our customers and provide creative supply chain solutions,” Ron Bingham, senior vice president and leader of the Grain Division for Scoular, said in a company release. “Hiring this team is another example of Scoular investing in the growth of our core business.”

Last month, Scoular launched its new “Emerging Businesses” division to focus on new investment opportunities in growing markets like biofuels, renewable energy, carbon, and agricultural technology
