Packaged foods manufacturer Monogram Foods recently announced the opening of its new USDA bakery in Medford, MA. The 60,000-sq-ft facility will produce ready-to-eat (RTE) sandwiches and other bakery products for co-manufacturing partners.

“This is a special moment in our history as Monogram Foods has built this team from the ground-up, and retrofitted the entire building into a beautiful, efficient space for our customers and team members,” Karl Schledwitz, the firm’s CEO, said in a release. “We made a substantial investment in Medford and look forward to contributing to the community for a long time to come.”

The company also operates a bakery in Wilmington, MA and is in the process of opening a third location in Haverhill, MA. With the addition of the Medford site, Monogram Foods now has 12 manufacturing facilities across seven states.

About 150 new jobs will be created as the plant starts operations. Monogram is a supplier of meat snacks, corn dogs, bacon, appetizers, and sandwiches.

Powder & Bulk Solids reported earlier this year that Monogram completed a $53.5 million project to convert a former Conagra plant in Dickson, TN into a new prepared foods manufacturing site. Operated by the firm’s subsidiary Monogram Assembled Foods, the Dickson plant will create 400 new jobs and manufacture a variety of meat snacks, appetizers, assembled sandwiches, fully cooked and raw bacon, corn dogs, USDA baked goods, and other convenience products.
