Food product innovation, manufacturing, and packaging firm McClancy Seasoning is dedicating more than $9.4 million to expand operations at two facilities in Indian Land, SC, a press release issued by the South Carolina Department of Commerce said Tuesday.
“We have expanded our operations since moving to the county in 1984 to two locations in 1993. We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Lancaster County Economic Development and the county council to support our growth and look forward to remaining a part of the community for years to come,” said the company’s president, Reid Wilkerson, in a statement.
20,000-sq-ft of space will be added to McClancy Seasoning’s facility on 1 Spice Road and its site on Charlotte Highway will undergo a 50,000-sq-ft expansion. The additional room will be used to support the production and distribution for fast food restaurants, food manufacturers, and and private label packaging.
The expansion effort is expected to generate 108 new positions, doubling McClancy Seasoning’s company-wide headcount. Work on the project is slated to reach completion in September 2021.
