Hormel Foods CFO to Step Down in October

Hormel Foods Corporation announced Wednesday that its executive vice president, chief financial officer, and member of its board of directors, Jody H. Feragen, is retiring this October.

James H. Sheehan, who serves as the company’s vice president and chief accounting officer, was named by Hormel’s board as its next CFO, effective Oct. 31, 2016.

“When Jody’s outstanding 10-year tenure as CFO concludes at the end of this fiscal year, she will have played an integral role in helping Hormel Foods to deliver exceptional returns to our shareholders,” said Jeffrey M. Ettinger, chairman and chief executive officer of Hormel in a statement. “She has provided rigorous and strategic focus to a broad array of decisions and initiatives, and has built a strong team of finance, tax, IT, investor relations, and accounting personnel for our company.”

Feregen began her tenure at Hormel in 2000 as treasurer. She was named vice president and CFO in 2007, and also started serving on the company’s board of directors that year.

Her successor has worked for Hormel for more than three decades, joining as an accountant before promotion to management positions.

“Jim is a true professional with a deep knowledge of the Hormel Foods business and culture build over a 30-plus year career in finance and accounting,” said Ettinger.
