Baked goods supplier Grupo Bimbo is preparing to launch a $200 million expansion project at its Valdosta, GA location to add a second production plant, Georgia Gov. Brian P. Kemp announced in a recent release. About 300 new jobs will be created through the project.

The company plans to open the new facility at the Westside Business Park. No details were available on when work is expected to reach completion.

Powder & Bulk Solids reported earlier this month that Bimbo is committing $430 million to open a new production facility in Zanesville, OH. Rival bread maker King’s Hawaiian also revealed plans this month to launch an $85 million expansion project at its location in Oakwood, GA.
