NFPA 69-Certified Rotary Airlock Valves

Certain products like sugar, processed under many conditions, are incredibly flammable and pose a greater risk for creating dust explosions. An increase in factory fires and dust explosions has resulted in fatalities and injuries. As a result, factory owners and managers are seeking flame isolation equipment to limit incidents and damage.

Always designed and manufactured to theoretical compliance with the NFPA-69 guidelines, Prater Industries’ rotary airlock valves were tested by a third-party testing facility to become a NFPA-69 certified rotary airlock valve manufacture. Certified airlocks, not to be confused with “compliance” or components that are simply “built to NFPA regulations,” under rigorous testing and are verified by a third party as compliant in successfully isolating the protection region from flame propagation.

Additionally, Prater rotary airlock valves were tested and found to be structurally sound at pressures up to the maximum deflagration pressure of 33.7 psig. To be NFPA compliant, components are only required to be tested up to 14.5 psig.
