Four Dead in Massive Chemical Plant Explosion

Four people were killed and six other injured in a massive chemical plant explosion at the Jinshan Chemical Plantin in eastern China Saturday morning, according to a Chinese news agency.

The explosion occurred during maintenance, just before 11am. Emergency crews extinguished the fire and conducted and completed search-and-rescue operations.

According to the report, two of the injured were in serious condition. The plant’s owner was in police custody and the cause of the blast was under investigation.
