Cemtrex Secures Emission Monitoring System Contract in Uruguay

Cemtrex Inc. has announced the award of a $1.3 million contract received from the National Administration of Power Plants and Electric Transmissions of Uruguay (UTE) to design, supply, and install complete Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) for eight stacks with redundant systems for emissions reporting and compliance. The CEMS will be installed at Jose Batlle y Ordonez Station in Montevideo, Uruguay and will measure and report emissions of SO2, CO, NO, NO2, O2, and particulate matter.

UTE chose Cemtrex's Integrated CEMS packages and laser opacity monitors for this plant because of unique advantages featuring functionality, ease of operation, durability, and low-maintenance cost. In addition to the CEMS, Cemtrex will also install an ambient air monitoring station at this plant for ambient parameters like SO2, NO, NO2, wind speed, wind direction, air pressure, humidity, and air temperature, along with data loggers for continuous reporting and data acquisition. The total contract value of the CEMS and air monitoring station amounts to $1.3 million.

"By winning this contract, amid global competition, we have demonstrated the superiority of our technology and the corporate resources to develop international business worldwide," said Ravi Narayan, vice president of business development for Cemtrex. "We have forged a strong relationship with local environmental and government authorities as well as established local partners in the process of attaining this contract and hence open new avenues to secure more projects in the future."
