Windsor Wire LLC Acquires Assets of Midwesco Filter Resources

Windsor Wire LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sly Inc., a 142-year-old manufacturer of bag house dust collectors and other air pollution equipment, has acquired the cage manufacturing assets of Midwesco Filter Resources Inc. (MFRI).

This purchase, along with the March 2016 purchase of the cage manufacturing assets of Babcock & Wilcox, now positions Windsor Wire LLC as one of North America’s largest cage manufacturers for fabric filter dust collectors.

Five newly acquired MFRI cage machines will be installed at Windsor Wire’s Mathison, MS location to complement two existing machines. The Williamsport, MD location operates two high-efficiency machines. Between the two facilities, Windsor Wire will be operating eight cage machines and is poised to service over 98% of the fabric filter cage market.

“I’m excited about the position Windsor Wire now holds in the industry,” said Mike Still, general manager for Windsor Wire. “I believe that with the addition of the MFRI assets to existing operations in Mississippi, combined with the capacity that the Maryland facility provides, we possess a unique capability to service the majority of the cage market. In addition, the intellectual and technical resource information acquired from MFRI really helps us to service all market consumers, whether for new equipment opportunities or for replacement bag cages for common dust collectors and lesser known, unusual size cages more effectively, while maintaining price and delivery competitiveness.”
