Vacuum Systems & Cleaning Spotlight - June 09

Pneumatic Vacuum
The A15 pneumatic vacuum operates entirely without electricity and provides suction, filtration, and durability. It uses air pressure generated by a compressor that is driven though an internal venturi to create powerful suction. Because the venturis have no moving parts, the units are low maintenance. The air-operated vacuum is also compact and maneuverable, and well suited for confined spaces and transportation to remote locations. It is extremely quiet and includes an external filter shaker to prevent premature clogging. It is available in stainless steel and can be fitted with an optional HEPA filter and an array of antistatic filters and accessories.

Cyclonic Preseparator for Vacuums
The Dust Deputy converts an ordinary shop vacuum into a high-efficiency cyclone vacuum. It separates +99% of all dust and material before the vacuum barrel, solving filter clogs and maintenance problems. Material separation is easy to see in the clear cyclone with nearly all waste going into the container under the cyclone, not into the shop vacuum. The unit is ideal for separating carbon and many other fine dusts that would quickly clog a vacuum filter. It can be mounted directly on or used with any standard shop vacuum.

Industrial Vacuum Kit
This kit includes a 25-ft-long, 2½-in. industrial vacuum hose, two cuffs, a five-piece nozzle kit with crevice tool, a 14-in.-wide floor nozzle, dust brush, bench nozzle, and wand. The kit attaches directly to existing ductwork with a saddle tap tee. Simply install the saddle, add a 3-in. blast gate, and connect the hose with one of the cuffs.

Motor Control System
Operators can reduce the energy costs of central vacuum systems by more than 70% with the Vacuum IQ. The unit reduces a plant’s overall peak demand for energy, and rebates are available from most energy providers. It uses variable-frequency drive (VFD) technology and a specialized software program that is customized for each application. The motor control system works with vacuum motors, constantly monitoring the demand for suction. As more vacuum pressure is needed, rpm increases. As demand decreases, motors slow. Operators pay only for energy actually consumed.

Industrial Vacuum Systems
Easy-to-use, 5–150-hp industrial vacuum systems are custom built to suit the application, material type, and facility size. They are designed to run under difficult conditions for long periods without plugging. Centrifugal or positive-displacement vacuum producers and pulse-jet cleaned cartridge type or baghouse filters are included. Systems are available with 50-ft-plus, 3–6-in.-diam vacuum hoses that connect to a centrally located material collection hopper, giving the user intense vacuum power to clean or remove material or hazardous spills immediately.

Central Vacuum Cleaning System
The Monobloc 40 central vacuum cleaning system offers easy-to-use controls and allows up to 10 users on line simultaneously. Features of the system include a 48-in.-diam filter housing, large-area cartridge filters, continuous-pulse filter cleaning, integral NEMA 4 control panel with motor starter, continuous-duty positive-displacement vacuum producer with secondary safety filter, 2-cu-yd-collection hopper, 5000-lb-capacity pallet jack, radio-frequency level control probe, and carbon-steel construction. The “No Flow Valve” is also included, which allows the system to run continuously, even when all inlets are closed. Tubing networks and tool kits are also available.

Vacuum Systems
This company manufactures a full line of portable, stationary, and custom-engineered vacuum systems. Some key material applications include fine powders and dust, abrasives, steel shot, carbon black, coal, fly ash, cement, sludge, plastics, gravel, powder coating, and hazardous materials. These patented vacuums can be used for low-volume and light-duty requirements, as well as high-volume, high tonnage, heavy-duty applications. The ultra-heavy-duty 100-hp 4000 series with a 2½-yard roll hopper shown here is used for highly abrasive sand and glass cleanup applications.

Industrial Vacuum Loader
The Guzzler NX industrial vacuum loader offers environmental solutions for reclaiming, reusing, and recycling a variety of valuable materials ranging from solids and dry bulk powders, such as fly ash, to liquids, slurries, and thick sludge. The machine offers excellent sound suppression that provides a more efficient process. The dense-phase batch offloading system combines pressure offloading in conjunction with the vacuum recovery and provides a closed-loop system that eliminates waste. The system conveys dry material up to 125 vertical feet, which is ideal for cement or dry bulk powder applications.
