The DA 7300 HLD In-line NIR system by Perten Instruments Inc. received certification from Intertek Group plc, ELT Listing Branch, Equipment Design Review Section that the instrument conforms to NFPA STD 496 & UL STD 913, 508A, 698A & 61010-1 for the USA. The instrument is also certified to CSA STD C22.2 Nos. 157, 14 & 61010-1 for Canada. The approvals mean that the instrument can be installed and used in an environment normally containing combustible dusts, including flour, grain, wood flour, plastic and chemicals.

"We are very excited to receive this approval.  It opens many opportunities for customers to place instruments in challenging environments.” reports Terry Allen, general manager of Springfield, IL-based Perten Instruments Inc. “The design approval further demonstrates our on-going commitment to excellence with our on-line/in-line NIR products."

The DA 7300 is a diode array based NIR instrument designed for use in food and agricultural environments. It continuously analyzes moving products for parameters such as moisture, protein, fat and others. The analysis results are sent to a plant’s process control system for automatic plant optimization or are read out to a display screen for manual adjustment. The DA 7300 incorporates a real-time video camera with separate illumination for a unique view directly into the process. The video can be viewed on a computer attached to the system’s network – be it in the same building or thousands of miles away.
