Carman Industries Introduces Vibratory Fluid Bed Dryer
Carman Industries introduces a vibratory fluid bed dryer with distributed drive system.

Carman Industries introduces a vibratory fluid bed dryer with a distributed drive system allowing for a long material bed to provide extended retention times. In addition, the drive system features a long stroke, ideal for materials that do not otherwise easily fluidize.

Thermally efficient drying with a heat recovery system and high drying air temperature improves energy efficiency, reduces equipment size, and lowers operating cost. A reactive counter balance isolation system eliminates almost all dynamic reaction transmissions to surrounding structures. Dynamic testing before shipment, modular construction, a steel coil isolation system, and integral support legs simplify and reduce the cost of installation.

The vibrating fluid bed processor heats, cools, dries, or moisturizes bulk solid materials. By passing controlled process air up through the material bed of the unit, the material is percolated like a gently boiling fluid. The solid particles undergo intensive intermixing, as process air surrounds each particle, permitting direct heat and/or moisture transfer between the air and the particles. This intimate contact between air and material particles makes a fluidized bed an efficient convection heat and moisture transfer process.
