Univar to Distribute Cargill Personal Care Portfolio in EMEA

Chemical and ingredient distribution firm Univar BV recently entered into an exclusive agreement to distribute Cargill Beauty’s personal care portfolio in EMEA starting Jan. 1, a Univar press release announced Monday.

“With Univar, we have found a leading distributor who can really open doors for Cargill. The company brings great expertise in sales, marketing, formulation and communication, and a vision that fits perfectly with Cargill Beauty’s strategy,” Cargill General Manager Tony Jaillot said in the release. “This agreement provides a solid foundation to bring our unique and differentiated nature-derived, label-friendly, and highly functional offering to the global personal care market.”

The American agribusiness launched its personal care unit Cargill Beauty in Spring 2017 at the in-cosmetics Global event in London, according to a Cosmetics Business report.

“The Cargill Beauty portfolio offers many solutions with unique benefits to formulators looking to create consumer products that can be eco-labeled and certified,” the release said, offering the company’s texturizing agents produced from natural sources as an example.

Its full personal care portfolio includes base ingredients, emollients, emulsifiers, texturizers for applications in skin, hair, oral, and color products.

“Coupled with Univar’s personal care expertise and market analysis, we can offer an attractive package of sustainable, nature-inspired products and value-added services,” said Matthew Ottaway, vice president of focused industries in EMEA at Univar, in a statement. “These services include illustrative formulations and technical assistance that help our existing and future customers meet ever-growing consumer demands for more natural ingredients and real perceived product benefits.”
