Industrial gases firm Linde recently completed the startup of a new hydrogen and carbon monoxide facility in Clear Lake, TX and a new air separation unit (ASU) in LaPorte, TX, the company announced Tuesday.
The facilities will supply oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon monoxide to chemicals firm Celanese through its US Gulf Coast pipeline system. Linde’s ASU in LaPorte will use the firm’s nitrogen and oxygen pipeline network to supply Celanese and other customers.
“We are proud to be a key supplier to Celanese and further strengthen our relationship through various long-term projects with this world-class company,” Jeff Barnhard, Vice President South Region for Linde, said in the release. “The new plants, along with our pipeline network, are uniquely positioned to safely and reliably supply Celanese and other valued customers in the US Gulf Coast. These products will also support our merchant liquid business customers in the region.”
Earlier this year, Linde started operations at its new ASU in Freeport, TX to supply oxygen and nitrogen to MEGlobal’s ethylene glycol (EG) production facility in Oyster Creek, TX.
