Elcan Industries, a leader in advanced powder processing & handling services, has announced a strategic partnership with Nippon Magnetics, which specializes in the electro-magnetic separation technology industry. The partnership comes as both companies look to enhance their offerings and technologies further to support the lithium-ion battery industry.

The collaboration promises several key benefits

  • Development of a test center in Tuckahoe, NY,  for trials and tolling in the US.

  • Allow clients the opportunity to sieve and then magnetize powders under one roof.

  • Prove out long-term testing prior to being capitally committed to equipment at Elcan’s tolling facility.

  • Combine the top sieving equipment with the most advanced electromagnet in a single processing stack.

"Our collaboration with Nippon Magnetics USA marks a pivotal step in enhancing our service offerings. Elcan is committed to delivering only the highest quality manufacturing services and technologies. With Nippon Magnetics by our side, we're positioned to offer clients a one-stop shop for their lithium-ion battery processing needs,” said Russell Grotto, executive vice president, Elcan Industries.

Elcan Industries plans to install a CG Electromagnet in early Q1 2024 to begin testing and tolling for clients. Both companies anticipate that this partnership will bring tangible benefits to their clients and contribute positively to the industry.

"Working with Elcan Industries allows us to extend our magnetic separation technology to a wider market and brings a physical presence to the US to increase testing capabilities and support," said a rep from Nippon Magnetics USA.
