Bunting Magnetics Co. appointed former K-Tron International president Kevin Bowen to its advisory board, the Newton, KS-based company announced Tuesday.

The company’s advisory board – which includes technology advisor John Ormerod, sales and marketing consultant Steven Schnoll, and Steve Kelly, president of Newton [KS] Medical Center – convenes on quarterly basis to offer advice and knowledge on Bunting’s strategic growth plan and initiatives.

“Bunting Magnetics is excited to welcome Kevin to the advisory board. With Kevin’s extensive knowledge and industry experience in manufacturing, production, and operations, I am confident he will not only be a valuable addition to the advisory board, but an equally valuable resource to the management team,” said Bob Bunting, president and CEO of Bunting Magnetics in a press release announcing the appointment. “We look forward to his guidance and fresh perspective as we continue to seek ways to improve our company and products, and grow around the world.”=

Bowen’s career in manufacturing started more than 40 years ago, the bulk spent at Coperion K-Tron. After serving as K-Tron’s production manager, Bowen held several sales positions before a promotion to vice president of sales and marketing. He then pivoted back to production and operations after being named vice president of manufacturing and engineering. Bowen was promoted to general manager of K-Tron Pitman, and then became president of K-Tron American and president for K-Tron International.

“Through my career at K-Tron, I became very familiar with Bunting Magnetics. Bob has a solid leadership team and a well-respected position in the industry,” said Bowen in the press release. “I look forward to working with them as they develop and execute new sales, operations, and manufacturing strategies to continue their growth and expand their global reach.”
