After grinding plastic scrap, the plastic flakes needs to be conveyed pneumatically. Often, the flakes are jamming standard rotary valves and interrupt the conveying process or even damage the valve. On customer demand, Pelletron developed a special rotary valve for discharge and pressure conveying of all kind of plastics regrind. The V-shape-designed rotor and the inlet roof with patented release slots avoid jamming of the flakes, which are typically irregular in shape and very thin. Especially PET regrind flakes that contain labels require such special technologies for a reliable and uninterrupted material handling. Valves are available in various sizes and made completely in stainless steel. Purge air is used to protect the shaft seal against wear.
