With the growing number of biomass and wood pellet production facilities being constructed, many end users and EPC contractors have chosen to use powder coated-flat panel tanks and silos for these facilities. Whether it is a process tank or silo, or a final product storage tank or silo, these epoxy powder-coated storage units have proven to perform as well or better than concrete or field welded. The durable epoxy powder coating that is thermally bonded to the components under a controlled environment creating a ridged and durable “shell” of protection that is superior over traditional liquid applied coatings. Pictured is a flat panel-epoxy powder-coated storage silo that was built for a producer of steam. This silo holding wood biomass is part of a retro-fit that provides a more economical source of fuel along with reducing the footprint left from the use of fossil fuels.
