On Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at 2 p.m. Eastern/11 a.m. Pacific, Eric Maynard, vice president, Jenike & Johanson, will present How Can I Properly Apply Flow Aids to Get My Material Moving from My Bin or Silo? as part of Powder & Bulk Solids’ free DryPro webinar series.
To get your bulk material moving, flow aids can be helpful, or if misapplied, can be hurtful worsening your flow difficulties. This webinar will review common flow problems that occur in bins, silos, and hoppers, and what techniques can be used effectively to induce material flow. Sometimes gravity is not enough to get stubborn material to get moving, and this webinar can help you learn quickly about what works and just as importantly, what does not usually work!
During this webinar, we will discuss the following:
Understand types of common flow problems with bulk solids
Review a variety of flow aid devices
Learn how to apply flow aids to alleviate flow problems
Maynard received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Villanova University and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. During his 23 years at Jenike & Johanson, he has designed handling systems for bulk solids including cement, coal, limestone, plastic powder, food products, and pharmaceuticals. He is the cement industry specialist at Jenike & Johanson, as well as the technical specialist for dust explosions and powder electrostatic behavior. He routinely lectures on the storage, flow, and pneumatic conveying of bulk solids for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) continuing education series, private companies, in-house courses, and the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference.
