Akron, OH-based particle size reduction and dispersing equipmentmanufacturer Union Process Inc. has built and installed a new laboratory-sized DMQX Bead Mill in its lab for the purpose of testing customers' material.

"This DMQX 07 bead mill is a great addition to our test lab. In addition to our line of wet and dry grinding Attritors, this mill allows us to target applications where submicron and nanometer particle size range materials are required,” said Union Process Laboratory Manager Emery Li in a press release.“At the end of the day, our mission is to help customers find the right solution for their size reduction needs. We have the unique experience and expertise to accomplish that mission."

The company is always looking at developing new products, optimizing existing processes and staying one step ahead of the various industries in which Union Process has experience.

Lab tests start with a questionnaire that can be found on the company's website.

Samples of the customers' material are then sent to the Union Process lab where tests are performed to determine feasibility and provide data for scale up. Union Process also has a toll milling / toll grinding facility to test larger quantities of material.

Since 1946, Union Process has been developing and building custom Attritors for customers with a wide variety of applications all around the world.

Union Process is the inventor and developer of Attritor technology and manufactures wet and dry grinding mills as well as horizontal bead mills.
