Schutte-Buffalo Names Director of Engineering

Buffalo, NY-based manufacturer of size reduction equipment Schutte-Buffalo announces the promotion of Mark Podgorny to the role of director of engineering.

Podgorny began his career with Buffalo Hammermill Cor. in 1995 as a purchaser and size-reduction test technician. He remained with the company through its merger with fellow Buffalo, NY size reduction equipment manufacturer, Schutte Pulverizer Co. in 2004. In the newly formed Schutte-Buffalo Hammermill, Podgorny’s role took on a greater engineering focus, where his design and engineering expertise was pivotal in adapting the existing Schutte Pulverizer and Buffalo Hammermill product lines to a wide variety of growing industries. Podgorny’s involvement in new product development and focus on custom design has been a significant factor in the growth of Schutte-Buffalo over the past 12 years.

As director of engineering, Podgorny will oversee the engineering and purchasing teams, while continuing his principal engineering role of custom size reduction equipment design and turnkey system development.

“Over his career, Mark has demonstrated his unique understanding of the size-reduction world and its myriad of application engineering and design challenges," said company president Chris Berardi. "We’re excited for continued growth in our business, and Mark taking on his new role is critical to our success and the success of our customers.”
