A technical workshop on Milling and Classification of Ultrafine Powders will take place on Thursday, May 8, from 3:15pm-4:45pm, at the Powder & Bulk Solids Conference in Rosemont, IL.

This technical training session will present the current state of the art for industrial milling and classification of ultrafine powders. Participants will be provided with a suite of formulas, reference tables, and charts that will enable them to apply newly learned skills to specific application challenges. Students will achieve three specific objectives:

•    Learn the basics of particle science and how it affects the processing, handling, and performance of ultrafine powders
•    Understand the primary methods of milling and classifying powders and the capabilities of each technology
•    Be able to specify and evaluate milling and classification systems

"This session will provide attendees with a good balance of theory and practice," says A.J. DeCenso, president of Preferred Process Solutions. "After introducing the primary concepts of particle science we will explore how today's milling and classification technologies work and how they are applied in real world situations."

The speakers for this workshop will be Joe Roettle, global sales manager, Ecutec, and A.J. DeCenso, business development manager, Ecutec Barcelona SL. Ecutec offers complete turnkey solutions for the production of ultrafine materials. The company’s systems are based on its proprietary designs for turbo-classifiers, ball mills, pin mills, jet mills, and coating mills.
