Industrial Magnetics’ magnetic separation equipment has been accepted and certified for use in dairy, meat, and poultry applications. The acceptance certifies IMI’s products to be acceptable and suitable for direct contact with food product.
The acceptance certifications are based on criteria, guidelines, and principles from two respective standards: The USDA Guidelines for the Sanitary Design and Fabrication of Dairy Processing Equipment and the USDA Guidelines for the Evaluation and Certification of the Sanitary Design and Fabrication of Meat and Poultry Processing Equipment.
AMS specialists base the equipment reviews on an examination of engineering drawings and physical observation of processing equipment. The IMI metal separation products that have been certified include plate magnets, bullet magnets, exposed pole tube magnets, magnetic drawer-in-housings, grate assemblies & grate tubes.
These USDA certifications compliment the HACCP International certifications that IMI also has in place for these magnetic separation product lines.
