Air Products Picks Minnesota for New Air Separation Unit

Industrial gases firm Air Products revealed plans Wednesday to construct a new air separation unit (ASU) in Minnesota that will serve customers and distributors in the Midwest when it becomes operational in 2020. Located in the Twin Cities metropolitan area, the facility will manufacture liquid nitrogen, oxygen, and argon.

“Air Products has supplied customers in Minnesota and the surrounding region with both onsite gases and merchant fluid for decades. This investment shows further commitment to our customers in the Midwest region, will expand our ability to serve the greater area, and will provide reliable product to supply new customers as well,” Francesco Maione, vice president, Northern Region, Americas, at Air Products, said in a company press release announcing the investment.

Across its global footprint, the company has 300 air separation plants and has sold, designed, and constructed over 2000 air separation units.
