OSHA Fines Mars Wrigley After Workers Fall Into Tank

OSHA said the workers were not properly trained or authorized to work on the tank.

The Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) has fined Mars Wrigley $14,500 after two contractors fell into a vat of chocolate at the comapny's facility in Elizabethtown, PA.

The incident took place on June 9, 2022, when two contracted workers fell into a chocolate tank. A hole had to be cut into the partically filled tank to resuce the workers, who were taken to a nearby hospital, including one by helicopter.

OSHA said the workers were not properly trained or authorized to work on the tank.
