Particle size reduction and dispersing equipment manufacturer Union Process Inc. has built a production-sized QL-25 Circulation Attritor for a global environmental remediation company based in California.

"We have a great deal of experience creating Attritor circulation systems for environmental remediation, including soil and water," said Brian Li, Sales Manager for Union Process.

The Attritor is powered by a 40-HP motor with a variable frequency drive (VFD). The drive is installed in a 4 x 12 wash-down duty enclosure. Both the 28-gallon stainless steel grinding tank and the 250-gallon stainless steel pre-mix tank are jacketed for cooling. The premix system includes a turbine mixer featuring two axial flow turbine blades powered by a 3-HP inverter duty motor. The module is programmed to display motor frequency (Hz), agitator RPM and the motor HP being used. All necessary plumbing is included in the system.

Since 1946, Union Process has been developing and building custom Attritors for a wide variety of applications for customers all over the world. The company is also a supplier of grinding media and materials characterization services for a diverse array of clients.

Union Process is the inventor and developer of Attritor technology and manufactures wet and dry grinding mills as well as the DMQX-Series horizontal bead milling system.
