A holding company jointly owned by Carrier Vibrating Equipment Inc. and S. Howes LLC, Carrier Process Equipment Group Inc. (CPEG), acquired the thermal processing division of Carnegie, PA-based Heyl & Patterson, known as the Renneburg division, the Louisville, KY-headquartered holding company announced Monday.

The purchase of the division adds extensive bulk processing capabilities, including rotary dryers, calciners, and coolers, to CPEG’s product offerings.

“The acquisition of Heyl & Patterson, Renneburg Thermal Processing strengthens Carrier’s position as a leading provider of bulk material processing solutions,” said Douglas A. Schieber, president and chief executive officer of CPEG and Carrier Vibrating Equipment. “The expanded product line will allow us to better serve our diverse customer base with the most complete line of energy-efficient, cost-effective thermal processing solutions available.”

As a result of the purchase, Carrier plans to add staff to its Louisville facility and the division’s existing Carnegie, PA location. The company also has operations in Nivelles, Belgium and Shanghai, China.

Carrier said the Heyl & Patterson rotary dryers, calciners, and coolers are “considered the workhorses of the powder and bulk solids processing industry” and can handle a wide range of bulk materials, powders, and sludges.
