Remodeled State-of-the-Art Vacuum Conveyor Test Lab

Piab offers advanced testing at its vacuum conveyor laboratory in Hingham, MA. The recently remodeled 3500-sq-ft state-of-the-art testing facility ensures quality control by allowing customers to test the process in which they will move their powder, granule, or fluid sample.

The vacuum conveyor testing facility is especially designed for engineers in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries, who deal with materials that are often health impairing and/or sensitive to humidity and contamination. Testing in the laboratory ensures customers that their material can be conveyed safely, hygienically, quietly, and efficiently. Sharing best practices with hands-on demonstrations, the easy of assembly, set-up and minimal down time helps ease the concerns of selecting new technologies.

Incorporating our piFLOW series of vacuum conveyors along with needed accessories such as feed station, feed wand, etc., Piab engineers assess conveying characteristics over various vertical and horizontal distances and provide customers with a computer-generated analysis of volume conveyed per hour or minute over a given distance. This detailed report allows customers to be certain that vacuum cycle time and energy consumption are effective. If compressed air is an issue for the customer, Piab can utilize a blower vacuum pump to provide the vacuum pressure.
Based on the customer’s specifications, Piab guarantees the testing results. It has a comprehensive library of conveyed materials that have been tested and documented. Along with the testing results, a video is provided to highlight the detailed results. Piab has similar testing labs in several locations worldwide.
